On Sunday, May 4th at 4pm, Perfect Fifth will return to the excellent acoustic of Hearst Memorial Mining Building to end the semester with our spring concert, "Magellan's Melodies: Music from Around the World." Admission is $10 general and $6 students. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. |
Perfect Fifth is a small a cappella choir in UC Choral Ensembles. We specialize in medieval and Renaissance music, both sacred and secular, as well as contemporary art music.
Perfect Fifth ("P5" for short) performs throughout the bay area. Since the group's formation in 2001, we have sung for engagements including the Pier 39 Tree lighting, Yo Yo Ma's Silk Road Project, Mark Morris' Hard Nut, UCCE concerts, and the San Francisco Zoo. The 2001-2002 season culminated with a seventeen day tour of China with the UC Alumni Chorus. In May, 2004, we went on another tour with Alumni Chorus to Finland, Latvia, Russia, and Estonia.
P5 consists of 8-12 experienced singers, both undergraduates and grad students. We are directed by Mark Sumner and managed by Stacy Rutz.
