Kevin Canini
Part: Baritone
Year With MC: 1
When not rehearsing with Men's Chorale, I can usually be found:
walking around campus listening to my iPod, playing guitar in Ohlone
Park, attending concerts in San Francisco, sailing in the Bay, or
playing disc golf. I recently started an acoustic gypsy folk rock
band with a couple friends, and I'm looking to improve my singing
ability.

Part: Second Tenor

My vocal career has its humble beginnings in a place often called "The Showers," (which has very nice acoustics) where I had, after learning about physics, played with resonances. Then I would often entertain myself with hums of classical selections. Later I tried and then began loving operas, and I started with the Toreador '(Bizet) and Queen of Night Aria of the Magic Flute. It was only last year that I upgraded my venues to the empty halls of LSA basement. So yea, no vocal experiences before, but I've been in orchestras during my HS years and this isn't the first time I'm in a section called "seconds." But I love eating and do enjoy having "seconds." I like music with canons or different parts '(Bethoveen's 9th, mvt 1, minute 6 of 12 is my favorite). Oh, and I like some Simon and Garfunkel music, so if anyone wants to try some duo with me... ;)
I'm from the Bay Area, a 2nd year MCB, BMB-I major. I love biochemistry and sciences '(I can be as nerd about it as you want me to be :)). In my free time, in addition to listening to music '(or playing it poorly), I also love to garden and play computer games '(WC3, SC anyone?). I'm excited about this year and hope y'all have a great time!

Scott Crawford
Part: Baritone, Second Tenor
Year With MC: 3
Mostly singing tenor/2nd tenor but also some baritone, Scott first seriously began singing 2 years ago when he joined his church's choir (as a bass).
The next year was met by a flurry of vocal activity when he joined his school's Chamber Choir (as the tenor section leader), Men's Ensemble, and Jazz Choir. He was paid to join another church's sparse tenor section during their Christmas Eve masses and even snagged a lead role for his school's spring musical. His experience in the musical, though frequently stressful and a huge time committment, was a great experience overall. To finish off his senior year, Scott formed a whole new group to perform a parody of the Oompa Loompa song (for which he also wrote the lyrics and generated a real score of music using a coputer program) inspired by none other than the UC Men's Octet's version bashing Stanfurd, and performed at his baccalaureate and graduation (the culmination of his 2nd semester during which he was simultaneously a part of 7 vocal groups). And now...he's a soloist in the UC Men's Chorale and loving every minute of MC life at Cal! MC for life! Go Bears!!

Robert Lawson
Part: Baritone, Second Tenor, First Tenor
Year With MC: 5
This is my eighth semester in Men's Chorale—I was manager for six—and it's bound to be the best so far. MC has always been a unique and wonderful group, and I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm originally from Maryland, in the DC Area, and this is my ninth and final semester here at Cal. I love to sing, of course, and I also love music composition, filmmaking, and screenwriting. If you check out my website (strobeflier.com), you'll find out way more about me than you ever wanted to know and will probably be mad at me for making a suggestion that utterly wasted X minutes of your life. Seriously though, go there anyway.

As a child, Alex McLeod was raised by a baboon. When he entered human society at the age of 6, he was unable to cope and was declared legally insane. He only has the ability to talk in high pitched screams and cries when he hears the word "Fudge". He also enjoys hugs, so if you see him, hug him. It makes him feel important.

for the arts as well. I enjoy cookies, italian food, good novels, pina
coladas and singing in the rain. I'm Canadian, Irish, and I know a fair
amount of German. I'm a bass...cause basses get it done. Toodles.

William Pe

Until recently, I have only enjoyed limited participation in an actual
choir; I was a bass singer/section leader in Mark Keppel High School's
beginner's choir in 2005-2006, and performed with the advanced choir
during the summer of 2006, but that was as far as my singing "career" got
due to my academic commitments. Nevertheless, singing has always remained
my passion and form of catharsis. Despite being confined to generally
performing the bass parts of Classical pieces during his high school
singing career, I nonetheless developed my vocal style and voice by
"vocalizing" with singers ranging from Seal and Tony Bennett to Cyndi
Lauper and Annie Lennox. Not wanting to make the same mistake I made in
high school by not participating fully in advanced choir, I joined the UC
Men's Chorale in Spring 2007 with the hopes of being able to contribute to
and enjoy the experience of live performance.

beer factory or any association with it. Anyways, I was in choir for 2

hope that the year goes well and to have a great time.

Raul Valle, Webmaster & Second Tenor Section Leader
Part: Second Tenor
Year With MC: 2
I'm a 3rd Year Film Studies Major, planning to Double Major in Theater and Minor in Creative Writing. Anyway, I come from Maywood, CA, a small town just south of East LA. I've been a performer since the 3rd grade, playing violin in elementary school, handbells in middle school and some acting in high school. There's a long story as to how I came to join the Men's Chorale but I'll leave that for a different day.
I enjoy many different things, including Video Games (GUITAR HERO! YEAH!), Bowling, Cartoons (both American and Japanese), Comics/Manga and Writing. As you can see, I'm kind of a nerd. Sometimes you'll find me listening to music, other times you'll find me working on a story (sometimes both). Anyway, feel free to say hi. I won't bite...much.
