CJC will be singing at Anna's Jazz Island
on Thursday, May 8th at 7pm! Come enjoy some great jazz with us!

Auditions for the Cal Jazz Choir will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 4-8pm in the basement of the Cesar Chavez
Student Center. All voice types are welcome, but we are on the lookout for basses and tenors! Please come prepared
with a short a cappella solo, preferably in a jazz style.

Come hear CJC sing at our Spring Show on Saturday, May 10th at 8pm in the Choral Rehearsal Hall
located in the basement of the Cesar Chavez Center. We will be performing great jazz standards such as
It Don't Mean A Thing and All the Things You Are, as well as more complex and rhythmic arrangements like
El Guayaboso and Spain. We are also glad to have a fantastic jazz combo playing with us on a few tunes,
as well as playing a few opening numbers. Tickets are $7 students, $10 general, and can be purchased
online or at the door. We hope to see you there!

The Cal Jazz Choir is a 10-member ensemble dedicated to exploring
the colorings of vocal jazz. Under the direction of William Garcia Ganz, CJC draws
its repertoire from the traditional standards of jazz greats such as
Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, Cole Porter, and Joe Garland, as well as
from popular jazz groups like The Real Group, Take 6,
Singers Unlimited, and The Manhattan Transfer. Performances
sometimes feature the talents of local jazz combos but are generally
a cappella and will almost certainly include plentiful scat solos!
The Cal Jazz Choir is one of many groups sponsored by UC Choral Ensembles
(UCCE). CJC has annual fall and spring shows, and frequently performs at
departmental parties, Chancellor receptions, and Alumni functions.
CJC is available for hire for private parties, and any other events at which
quality jazz entertainment is requested! And we are always looking for jazz
musicians with whom to perform. If you would like to hire or perform
