UC Men's Chorale

UC Men's Chorale dates from 1885 making it the first men's collegiate choral ensemble in the West. Its repertory is drawn from many historical periods: concert and popular music, folk songs from many cultures, and ever-popular Cal songs. The UC Men's Chorale often joins the UC Women's Chorale to present mixed chorus music and to tour, and shares much of the UCWC's performance calendar. This past Decenber, they appeared with the championship barbershop harmony chorus, Voices in Harmony, at its Christmas show. Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

UC Women's Chorale

UC Women's Chorale is probably the most diverse large choral group on any college campus. Most women begin their UCCE career with the Women's Chorale. This past season featured performances of Brahms Requiem, Cal songs, a throwback 1950s concert including a medley with individual performers singing their favorite songs. Often singing with the Men's Chorale, popular annual events include the Halloween Concert, A Cappella Against AIDS benefit concert, and caroling in San Francisco during the holidays. UCWC offers singers from all backgrounds a relaxed but rewarding and active experience.
